If you're a serious coffee nut, the only complaint you'll have is that the pump could be stronger and it can't really make multiple coffees in one go, it's designed more for single use or 3 at most, I am a bit of a coffee nut myself and once you get used to the machine you can really put out coffee that will beat any Starbucks or costa shop. This machine is a real bargain, you won't be disappointed. Still working perfectly 11/09/18
Still working perfectly 20/03/19, to get over 2 years now with this machine was probably worth the ÂŁ160 it cost, would also recommend grinding you own coffee with Krupp burr grinder, fresh ground, quality beans make a real difference, like Kimbo prestige or Kimbo extra creme

It makes great tasting coffee in the three forms we like, Espresso, white Amerciano and Latte. You're gonna need a bit more kit to make them but they're not gonna cost you the earth. I would suggest getting some way of measuring out a proper shot (either a coffee shot glass or a marked measuring cup), and a decent, correct sized tamper as the one provided is so-so. Also a graduated stainless frothing jug with a clip-on thermometer for your latte milk is a good idea too.
The only downside we've encountered is that once you've switched it to steam to froth milk for lattes it takes a minute or so to cool back down to be able to provide water at the right temperature for the coffee shot again. Simple, if you're just doing two cups, do both shots one after another then switch it to steam for your milk. If you're doing more just switch the machine off then on again. This is because its only a single boiler machine. The on/off button is oddly on the back and its more of a inconvenience than a proper moan. This is my first espresso machine and I'm very pleased with it. 5/5
14/06/19 Edit:- We’ve has this now for 4 years and it still going strong. I was happy with it then, and I’m still happy with it now. Still gets used daily, about 6 cups a day unless we have guests and still producing a variety of coffees.
I still recommend this machine.

Cafe people are like? hey where have you been... (can't say mate, i've got my own cafe now)
even though I gave it a 5 star... (it saved me alot of money)
I do have some negative comments.
1. once you turn it from coffee to steam, forget about making another coffee... it just keeps blinking... so then you have to bring the left knob to the middle, and then turn the steam knob on, and wait for steam to finish and hot water to start pumping out (use a glass to collect) only the nit will get read for next BREWING...
2. i read this in previous reviews as well, and I agree, the steam knob is flimsy, it kind of gets stuck just before it turns on. weired.

Delivery from Amazon prompt but there was no outer packing added by Amazon to the manufacturer's box although fortunately there was no transit damage (others might not be so fortunate).
Instructions are not very clear, as others have indicated, but we muddled through as everyone else has done without any problems.
First thing we noticed is that it will not take 'tall' mugs, but ours at 95mm will just fit under, which is OK for us.
We use ground coffee, not pods, so there was some trial and error to optimize things. First the single shot basket thing seems to hold more proportionately more coffee than the double shot basket (i.e. 2x single is more than the double). Both baskets are sensitive to how much coffee is put in, since only a slight overfill even when using the measuring spoon will either prevent you from loading the holder into the machine or the machine can't pump through the coffee. That part mastered we then found that coffee ground fine for espresso machines definitely works best, not 'ordinary' ground coffee from a packet. The best coffee so far has been from a specialist coffee supplier (Italian from Wallingford Tea and Coffee Co), and lots more out there to try. That said the machine has produced a good crema on all of the coffees we have tried so far.
We have used the milk frother and it works fine, although we don't use it much.
Problems with multiple cups of coffee, as others have reported, don't arise for us because we don't make more than two mugs at a time.
But the cup warmer is indeed rubbish.
So finally after a month it's still going strong and hopefully will continue to do so for some time yet and fingers crossed this review will not induce the kiss of death!
