I ordered the 40M version in an Amazon sale, but wasn't able to mount it until about 18 months later because of work being done on the outside of my house. Easy to mount and set up (though some care is needed - the plastic mounts seems a little flimsy to support the weight on just 4 mounting screws, and it is easy for the screws to pull through the plastic unless washers are used to spread the load).

Once it was set up I tried to use it, but found that although it was correctly connected up, the water, instead of coming out through the hose, just ran out of the bottom of the reel casing. By this time the item was more than a year beyond Amazon's return window, but as Hozelock offer a 5-year guarantee I tried to report the problem through the Hozelock website. Like another reviewer in here, that had no effect, so telephone the support number on the site. They told me to report the problem by email to support@hozelock.zendesk.com - which is not, so far as I can tell, published on the website. My email was met with a prompt response and I was told to expect a replacement within "3-4 working days" - though I'm still waiting almost 3 weeks later. Quite aside from the delay in actually fulfilling their promise, I find it worrying that beyond apparently dealing efficiently with the initial enquiry (a description of a clearly faulty device), my correspondent in the support department failed to respond to any of my related questions (like "Do you expect the old reel to be returned, and if so how should it be packed? And if not, how should I responsibly dispose of it?"). All such questions were simply ignored, and I found myself unconvinced by HozeLock's subsequent assurances that this was simply an oversight, given that my further comments to them were likewise ignored.

Purchased the 40 mt auto in December 2018, but it started to leak mid 2020. Contacted customer service and they could not have been more helpful. In less than a week I had received a replacement. Unfortunately a week ago, this started to leak water through the casing. I contacted customer service fully expecting them to say nothing could be done. I was so wrong, I have today received a second replacement. I would just say that my brother in law bought exactly the same model, over six years ago and it’s still working fine. Absolutely superb customer service.

Dans l'ensemble, le dévidoir fonctionne correctement.
Seule l'installation au mur pose problème : le vissage ne peut se faire dans l'axe, de plus les chevilles sont trop d'un diamètre trop étroit, résultat grande difficulté pour l'installation qui doit supporter 18 kg eau incluse

Good retractable hosepipe but very poor fixings

Once installed, the hose is good to use; easy to pull out and it rectracts well. But the screws and wall plugs supplied with it are inadequate. When I started to mount the hose assembly onto the bracket, the screws plugs simply pulled out of the wall. The plugs are really too small, and they are sealed at the sharp end so do not expand properly. The screws have a Philips, cross pattern which means it's nearly impossible to tighten them properly without the screwdriver jump out. I bought some much better replacement screws and plugs (from B&Q), which work well and were easy to install. In the picture, the Hozelock supplied screws and plugs are on the left; the ones I used from B&Q are on the right. They were not very expensive; I do not know why Hozelock does not supply better ones. I think they do in Australia, where I installed the same kind of retractable hozepipe ('Hozelink') for my sister in law a few weeks ago. The wall plugs are larger and the screws were tightened with a spanner.

Makes watering the plants a pleasure. The hose pulls out and rolls back in easily. So simple to operate. A good quality product.
It’s heavy to carry but once attached to the wall very easy to use.

I bought this to replace identical one that had lasted 5 years before the return spring failed. Works a lot better than the last one so maybe manufacturer has made improvements ? Very useful to have an auto rewind hosepipe.

Works well, it stores the hose neatly and kink free. So glad we bought it much better than our old one.

I bought this product to replace which had failed. This time, I read the instructions! The instructions say it should not be left outside during the winter. And I left our old one outside during several winters! That’s why the return spring failed.

I have to say that the mounting kit supplied is inadequate. I had to find some really big screws and big rawl-plugs to mount this securely on the brick wall.

But it’s a good quality product, and our original one lasted many years, despite being left out in all weathers. So silly of me. It’s simplicity itself to lift off the mounting lugs and put it under cover!
