We've had our ceramic Dutch oven for a little over a month now. We absolutely LOVE how beautiful it is and the fact that the inside is black and won't stain! We also love that it's oval and can fit on the center burner of our gas stove. HOWEVER, after our first time using it, I was washing it and the lid slipped right out of my hands and fell to the floor from counter height. There are now 3 chips in the lid...and I'm pretty upset about it. I didn't feel that it was fair to return it (even though it happened in the time period where I could return it) but I certainly would be thrilled if the seller offered to exchange the lid! I'd even bump my rating up to a 5 star rating! LoL

Anywho, it's a great value but, just handle with extreme care!

I had the LaCuisine regular dutch oven with the light interior, and gave it away because no matter how much you clean, and take good care of them, all the ones that are white or cream colored inside stain. I have a few Staub pots, mainly because they have black interiors, and I got them on sale. This pot is gorgeous, really heavy, and mine had a perfect finish - on the outside. In fact, the outside is so nice, it's comparable to the Staub majolique 3 coat finish on their top of the line pots. The photos don't really capture how deep and rich the color is. I got the 6 qt. round in cranberry, and it's stunning. But I don't cook on the outside of the pot, and the inside was a whole different story. The inside of the lid was fine, but the pot was so rough, I didn't see how I could use it. Why the lid and the pot felt so different is a mystery. Just to run a dish rag, or towel over it left behind a trail of fibers. It felt like 80 grit sandpaper. So, it was either send it back, or try to fix it. I fixed it. And I realized going in I wouldn't be able to return it, having tampered with it, but there's no way I'm returning it now. I have a lot of experience sanding, having worked in a cabinet shop, so I knew what I was doing. I started with 200 grit sandpaper, and slowly and carefully hand sanded just the roughness away, finishing with 400 grit, which probably wasn't even necessary. Then after I washed it and dried it thoroughly, placing it on the burner to make sure, I used a soft rag with just a drop of oil to rub into the entire surface. I've since used it to braise beef and a whole chicken, and it works every bit as good as my Staub. And feels even better. Don't do this if you don't know what you're doing, and do it only by hand. Just keep in mind, you'll be voiding your warranty, and will be stuck with the results of your handiwork. I'm just saying it worked for me.

My first La Cuisine pot. I am very happy it is well made. I have not used it yet but I feel it would be good pot to do my dishes. I just wish they have a 7 qt size.

This is a very nice Dutch oven, I wanted this size pot to make sauces and the interior of this pot is rough to the touch, I feel it would not work well for my needs, for other cooking it would be a good purchase.

Great size for soups and stews especially for two person household. Not as thick and heavy as some of these cast pots, which I view as a plus. Could use a little more aggressive lid rim that centers lid on the pot, but other than that we like this cast iron with its black interior. Easy cleanup and heats evenly. Would recommend.

I love this braising pan but when I sear chicken, it sticks to bottom. I pre-seasoned pan, hand wash and put oil in pan before cooking. If I could solve this problem, I'd give it 5 stars.
